Dilemma: Finance or Economics?

I was originally planning to study MBA but I think that I might be too young for that and an MBA program might be "generalist", so here are my best next options:

MS Financial Engineering

Master in Applied Economics

Assuming that they are of equal academic reputation (they are in the same college anyway), I want to know which between the two fields is more useful in general. You might want to give advice about the factors that I should consider.

Background: I am currently in the field of IT, a team leader in software Quality Assurance to be exact. I graduated BS Computer Science major in Computer Engineering but I am not interested at specializing in computer hardware and electronics. Interested at learning business concepts in general.

While I haven't fully decided yet, I am continuing with my French. Feel free to ask questions.
